Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) president and Nadigar Sangam general secretary Vishal has appealed to the Govt. of Tamil Nadu to provide financial grants to producers before Pongal (13th January).

Vishal was speaking at a recent function held to release the teaser of his upcoming film Irumbu Thirai starring himself and Samantha in the lead for the first time. Debutant director Mithran P.S. writes the story, screenplay and dialogues besides directing. ‘Action King’ Arjun, Delhi Ganesh, Robo Shankar, Kaali Venkat and Vincent Asokan play prominent roles in the film which has Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music.

“Audio-launch would be held on 06th January at Malaysia where the entire Kollywood fraternity would be present for the grand cultural nite. Irumbu Thirai is a prominent film in my career. I had earlier worked as an assistant director in Arjun Sir’s films and I’m fortunate that he had generously agreed to play my villain in the film; I’m at a loss of words to appreciate and laud his broad-mindedness,” he said.

On another note, he said that he was fearless in discharging his twin responsibilities with the Council and Sangam. “I welcome Govt. of Tamil Nadu’s announcement granting financial grant (assistance) to producers. If the scheme is implemented before Pongal (13th January), families of those producers and I would remain grateful to the Government,” Vishal concluded.
