Jeeva Shankar, whose last film was with Vijay Antony, is on cloud nine. The director recently shot a commercial for Run Adam app with the Ex-Indian cricket team skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and the pictures have gone viral across social media.

When we contacted Jeeva Shankar, he said, “Only after I signed this project, I came to know that the makers are getting Dhoni on board. Though I was happy to shoot with captain cool, as a director, I had butterflies in my stomach. Even in the wildest of dreams I never imagined directing him.”

The shoot happened at a popular studio in Mumbai, for over eight hours. “The agencies wanted us to shoot either in Chennai or Mumbai. Considering Dhoni’s fan base in Chennai, it would be time consuming, as there will be public interference, even before he reaches the sets. Hence, I preferred to shoot the commercial in Mumbai,” he added.

Jeeva said that he narrated the concept only a few minutes prior to the shoot. “I asked him if he needs to rehearse. He instead said that we rather go for the take. Only then I realised how he remains cool even in crunch situations,” smiled Jeeva.

Jeeva also shared with us the chat he had about the southern film industries with MSD. “I was conscious that I shouldn’t talk about cricket. He bowled me over by saying, how he takes time to watch some of the good films made in Tamil. He also said that Suriya is one of his favourite actors in Tamil and reminisced his conversations with Superstar Rajinikanth while he met him in Chennai last year.”

The director also adds that they are yet to shoot a scene outdoor, and were still searching for locations in Coimbatore. “Dhoni’s team is happy about the output of the commercial as it looks visually stunning,” he fini
