Looks like street fight has become one of the hot topics for K’town filmmakers. After Kreshna’s Pandigai, an upcoming film titled Vaandu, also revolves around street fight. Director Vashan Shaji, music has been Composed by AR Neshan, the film has Sai Dheena, Mahagandhi, and Ramachandran in pivotal roles.
Vashan Shaji, told us, “The film will be fresh, as it explores street fight in a unique way, and explains, why it has left no traces in any corner of the city. Two kids, Cheenu and Arjun, in their mid teens, play the lead roles. I’m sure that the audience can relate to movies like Goli Soda, Kaakha Muttai and other children-based films, when they watch Vaandu. It is about how these kids get into street fight, and how the sport haunts them for generations, forms the crux of the story.”
Talking about shooting schedules, he said, “Majority of the film was shot in Kasimedu, and other parts of north Chenani. The film will be an edge-of-the-seat thriller. Also, SR Guna plays the role of master Aravind in the film, and he has a love interest, too. Debutant Shika plays the female lead.”
