Actor-director-producer M. Sasikumar, who has been going through a ‘lean patch’ as his last three films have either fared average of below-average at the box-office, has preferred talented actress Aishwarya Rajesh to play his sister in a new film.
Known as an ‘actress of substance’ thanks to her ever-so-casual portrayal of her roles in films such as Rummy, Kakka Muttai and Dharma Durai, Aishwarya Rajesh has carved a niche for herself as an actress who has the wherewithal to take on any role and do full justice to the script.
Muthaiah, who directed Sasikumar in Kutti Puli, is making his second Sasikumar-starrer which has been titled tentatively as Kodi Veeran for which he has signed up Aishwarya Rajesh to play the all-important character of Sasikumar’s younger sister as the film is a typical Muthaiah-style emotion-filled pot-boiler dealing with family relationships and related issues.
Hansika and Poorna are said to be in talks to play the twin heroines opposite Sasikumar. ‘Action King’ Arjun is said to have agreed to play the antagonist in the film about which a formal announcement is expected to be made soon.
