In a warm and loving gesture to the people of Ariyalur district, Vijay Sethupathi has proved why he is fondly referred to as ‘Makkal Selvan’. Kollywood’s most loved actor has announced that he will donate Rs.50 lakhs towards the welfare of Ariyalur, the native place of Anitha who sadly ended her life over NEET.
Vijay Sethupathi stated that since Ariyalur lacks good educational facilities he has decided to donate Rs.5000 each for about 771 Anganwadis, Rs.50,000 each for 10 government schools for the blind, Rs.50,000 each for 11 government schools for the deaf.
The actor also clarified that this announcement is not to advertise the amount being donated, but to encourage like minded people to come forward and do their best contribution. “It is not only because Ariyalur is educationally backward, but that I wanted to do something for the place where Anitha once belonged to,” Vijay Sethupathi said.
